Benefits of Sage Smudging:

 Safety & Use:

• Make sure door/ window is open to air out the smoke (and negative energy!).. similar with bukhoor
• Hold the sage at a 45 degree angle, and hold from the bottom
• Light the top end allowing it to burn for 20 seconds then gently blow out the flame
• Now you can start the process of clearing your space
• Walk around the room, along the walls, anywhere you want to purify
• You can also sage yourself, place carefully under your clothes, around yourself (like bukhoor)
• Try not to inhale a lot of the smoke
• Never leave a burning sage unattended
• Always use a Sage Resting Plate (heat resistant)
• Once you are done smudging, press the burning tip on the Sage Resting Plate, or sand until there is no longer any smoke (don’t extinguish with water, it will ruin the tip!)
